The Imagery of Success {Lexington, KY. Commercial and Business Photography}

I enjoy doing head-shots for all sorts of people.  It’s a pretty basic type of shoot, and allows me to get to know my client and truly try to get them to give natural, personal, and real expressions.  I do this so that their head-shots not only show what the person looks like, but who they really are.  I thought I’d post 2 recent shoots for head-shots that I have done.

Who needs headshots you ask?

Haha, Well, you may not have even asked that really, but I bet many of you had never even thought about it.  If you own your own business, work in a business, operate a blog, or generally want to be seen as a professional in whatever field you work in, perception is everything.  I would love it if our world judged us only at our work and results, but it simply isn’t the case.  A professional quality picture expresses that you are a professional, and that you take your work seriously, and either someone was willing to invest in getting you professional quality photos, or you were willing to invest in that imagery yourself.

My job is to give you the imagery that tells others that you are successful, or at the very least that you are well on your way.  Quality head-shots can do that.  The first shoot that I will show is one of my friend Jerrod Sills.  We did some business casual shots, and then some more fashionable and serious shots.  After that I have posted images that contrast his business shots with the headshots of Tiffany King, who wanted some shots for her food blog (Eat at Home Blog ) so that people see her professionalism in a different way.  For her purposes, we did a shoot that let her look accessible, joyful, and natural.

At the end of the post I can’t help but to post some images from Mr. Sills that we did after his head-shots.  I wanted to display my ability to take high quality, editorial and fashion portraits.  Jerrod was very excited to show off the resulting images, with many thinking he’s a big time CEO or a GQ fashion model.  Who doesn’t want that?  🙂

Albums For Sale!

Albums For Sale!

So it’s been long overdue, but I finally have sample albums to show you all!  All the albums I create are customized and designed by me, to suit you and help you and all your loved ones remember your wedding day as best as possible.  The soft cushy leather cover, which is very sturdy, feels so pleasant in your hands as you open it up to the thick, lay-flat pages that are longing to be filled with every moment of your wedding day memories.  As with all my services, products and equipment, I want nothing but the best for my clients, so after spending long hours researching different album companies and trying to find products that I myself would want, KISS Wedding Books is what I happily chose.  Their clean and modern, yet simple and tasteful style, combined with solid craftsmanship and excellent customer care won me over in an instant.  So, all you brides considering purchasing a wedding album, this is definitely for you.  As a bonus, through KISS, I can even offer the mini-KISS albums as well, which keeps the same layout of your full size album, but in a smaller form so you can slide that baby into your purse and show all your friends, family and coworkers so they can share in your excitement!  All of the full size and mini albums come with an elegant black and white dust cover as well, helping to preserve your album for many years.

Kennedy and Wyatt: Cuteness Overload {Lexington, KY. Portrait Photography}

Kennedy and Wyatt: Cuteness Overload {Lexington, KY. Portrait Photography}

This was too much fun.  Wyatt is now 6 months old, and it was Kennedy’s 3rd birthday, so this day was entirely about them.  Kennedy isn’t one to sit still for pictures, but that is just due to her incredible desire for adventure and fun.  So while I may have had to run around like a goofball, chase some geese, and make some pretty ridiculous sounds, that adventurous spirit made for some amazing photos.  Wyatt was much more stationary, but I’m sure that is just due to his current inability to mobilize himself 🙂  I’m certain he’ll be a fireball by the next time I get to photograph his joyful face.  Always a pleasure with this family!

I bought this parasol a long time ago, hoping to use it for photos at some point.  I finally found the perfect moment to bring it out.  It accented Kennedy’s dress and the background so well, and gave her something to play with so I could get her to slow down for a second.  The parasol took a bit of a beating, but it was SOOOOO worth it!

Kennedy’s mom apparently neglected to teach her that you are supposed to blow dandelion seeds… not eat them 🙂

Baby Walker Part II: Keagan’s Arrival {Nicholasville KY, Newborn Photography}

Just a few short weeks after the maternity shoot, baby  Keagan graces us with his wonderful presence 🙂  Hoot Hoot! Jenna loves owls like crazy, so it’s no wonder that the room and part of the shoot is decked out in owl decorations.  SO. STINKIN. ADORABLE.  Scott and Jenna are already loving everything about being parents, and it shows.  They are such a great family, and one who I count it a blessing to know.  Enjoy baby Keagan, and leave them some well wishes, and maybe some baby advice in the comments box below!

Take one part Ashley Inn, one part Beautiful day, one part Japan, and one part America, then mix it all together and you get an incredibly colorful and excellent time!  I had never shot such a small and intimate wedding before, but I loved how it made it so relaxed, family focused, and all about the couple.  To see how wonderfully family’s from across the world joined together was a sight to see.   Sure, Andy and Kaori had already made their covenant official, but it was important to them to have the family ceremony and make sure they were all a part of their relationship.  Big thanks to Meagan at the Ashley Inn B & B for connecting  me with such an awesome couple and facilitating the whole deal.  (www.ashleyinnbandb.com)
