Kentucky bourbon distilleries have become a permeant piece of Kentucky History and style. When Sarah suggested we meet at the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort Kentucky for her engagement photography, I was totally on board. Sam and Sarah are one of the sweetest, and most genuine couples I could have asked to work with, and that shows in their photos. Keep an eye out for my blog on their super gorgeous Lexington Kentucky wedding day in a few weeks as well, featuring a the beautiful Spindletop Hall.
The amount of beauty surrounding this wedding day is absurd. Everywhere you looked it was absolute perfection. Amazing people, beautiful details, excellent locations. Emily certainly outdid herself planning this special occasion. Downtown Lexington Kentucky makes for such a perfect backdrop for a wedding day, and the Carrick house is an incredible reception venue that I always enjoy photographing.
Here is one of 2 examples of why it’s great to have a second shooter at your wedding. The shot below is taken by my second shooter for the evening, Zach Brake, and showcases why having another photographer around allows for alternate and more interesting angles for different moments.
This is another awesome shot (below) from Zach that shows how amazing a second shooter can be.
Emily suggested we do wedding portraits on a gorgeous horse farm… So00000, I said yes. Lexington Kentucky wedding photos on a perfect horse farm with her in her amazing Claire Pettibone “Kristene” Gown. Duh.
This is a little late… as I shot their wedding last weekend, but it still had to be shared 🙂 As usual I worked with Katelyn and Aaron to find out how to tailor their engagement shoot to help show their personalities the best. We decided on taking a walk through downtown lexington and getting some great shots there. As usual, I had one of my crazy grand ideas to hit up the Lexington Kentucky Night Market on North Limestone as the sun set, which happened to be going on just as our shoot was finishing up. The atmosphere there was wonderful. Something about seeing them focused entirely on one another while surrounded by a sea of other people gives such a beautiful picture of marriage and their life together. Keep an eye out for more from these two, because I’ll definitely be blogging their wedding photography as well.
