This was too much fun.  Wyatt is now 6 months old, and it was Kennedy’s 3rd birthday, so this day was entirely about them.  Kennedy isn’t one to sit still for pictures, but that is just due to her incredible desire for adventure and fun.  So while I may have had to run around like a goofball, chase some geese, and make some pretty ridiculous sounds, that adventurous spirit made for some amazing photos.  Wyatt was much more stationary, but I’m sure that is just due to his current inability to mobilize himself 🙂  I’m certain he’ll be a fireball by the next time I get to photograph his joyful face.  Always a pleasure with this family!
I bought this parasol a long time ago, hoping to use it for photos at some point. Â I finally found the perfect moment to bring it out. Â It accented Kennedy’s dress and the background so well, and gave her something to play with so I could get her to slow down for a second. Â The parasol took a bit of a beating, but it was SOOOOO worth it!
Kennedy’s mom apparently neglected to teach her that you are supposed to blow dandelion seeds… not eat them 🙂

Just a few short weeks after the maternity shoot, baby  Keagan graces us with his wonderful presence 🙂  Hoot Hoot! Jenna loves owls like crazy, so it’s no wonder that the room and part of the shoot is decked out in owl decorations.  SO. STINKIN. ADORABLE.  Scott and Jenna are already loving everything about being parents, and it shows.  They are such a great family, and one who I count it a blessing to know.  Enjoy baby Keagan, and leave them some well wishes, and maybe some baby advice in the comments box below!

I’ve managed to make it this long without doing a maternity shoot, but that time must end.  Scott and Jenna are so relaxed and fun, I couldn’t resist getting to hang out with them for a while before I do their newborn shoot in probably about a week, considering she is due pretty much anytime now.  I half expected her to have to go straight to the hospital from the shoot.  It would have been super convenient though, seeing how we were right behind the hospital at the arboretum!  Boy was the arboretum perfect though! I need to get several more of you all out there soon to do some pictures before all these AMAZING flowers fall from the trees.  Give Jenna some encouragement in the comment section below. She needs it for what she is about to do. Maybe leave some for Scott too 😉

This, my friends, is one adorable little baby. Â Anna Grace and her head of hair is certainly a sight to see. Â It always blows my mind how crazy tiny babies are! Â The itty bitty little toes and insanely soft skin melts me every time. Â I always underestimate how easily they get confused with the wild world we live in. Â Have you ever thought about what it must have been like to have been so newly created and how literally EVERYTHING is foreign to you and frightening. Â To know nothing but the comfort of the ones you love and to have the utter inability to meet any want or need of your own. Â It’s funny that we think we ever really move past that.
Oh yeah, there were some other awesome kids there too 🙂

As a special treat for Christmas eve, I present to you a fun family shoot I did a few weeks ago.  The Eldridge family is one that has an especially sweet spirit.  The parents are fun and loving, and the children are respectful and goofy. They are all around a good group of people to be around.  I enjoyed every part of this shoot… especially the parts in the barn 🙂 The cool textures and smooth light made for some awesome photos.
As a special photo, Joe really wanted to get a picture with his violin. So we brought out the door and did some cool stylish pictures like the one I posted before. Â These were pretty sweet.

There are 2 things that are certain about this child.  The first is that his best friend will definitely be baby Wyatt.  Their big sisters are best friends, and it has been decided that they will be too 🙂  The second is that he’s gonna feel super comfortable on a boat, because his room is decorated almost like one.  It was a welcome break from some of the other generic boy room decorations.  This family was super loving and you can tell by how the parents interact that the two kids are well loved, not to mention that I met 2 of the grandmothers during the shoot as well.  This family sticks together, and they will be able to weather any storm, whether on the water or on land.  Check out this awesome family below and leave them some comment love at the end!
