Getting to hang out with a couple a year after their wedding is such a treat. I love seeing how their relationships have grown and evolved over the year. Of course, when they suggested that this Lexington Kentucky photographer come shoot at the awesome Coney Island in Cincinnatti I was all aboard! Me and drew were both a little nervous about this ferris wheel, but it turned out incredible 🙂

If you’ve never seen Central Kentucky Wedding in the fall, you are missing out. Let me help you out with that a little by showing you this incredible Georgetown, Ky Wedding from last November.

The amount of beauty surrounding this wedding day is absurd. Everywhere you looked it was absolute perfection. Amazing people, beautiful details, excellent locations. Emily certainly outdid herself planning this special occasion. Downtown Lexington Kentucky makes for such a perfect backdrop for a wedding day, and the Carrick house is an incredible reception venue that I always enjoy photographing.
Here is one of 2 examples of why it’s great to have a second shooter at your wedding. The shot below is taken by my second shooter for the evening, Zach Brake, and showcases why having another photographer around allows for alternate and more interesting angles for different moments.
This is another awesome shot (below) from Zach that shows how amazing a second shooter can be.

Emily suggested we do wedding portraits on a gorgeous horse farm… So00000, I said yes. Lexington Kentucky wedding photos on a perfect horse farm with her in her amazing Claire Pettibone “Kristene” Gown. Duh.

I’ve said it 100 times, but Wedding day’s are not defined by the details, but by the people. After shooting a wedding, the thing that i remember, that stays with me most, is how much love was shown and shared. This wedding, however, was extra significant. Anytime a family experiences a major loss they either drift apart, or they grow closer than ever. A few months before Leah’s wedding, her father died. Losses don’t get much more major than that, and this family certainly gathered around one another in an amazing way. The love that was shared between these people was extraordinary. When there is that much love at a wedding celebration, beyond the certainty of me having to wipe some tears off my camera, I know the photos will turn out spectacular. It was an incredible honor that I got to hang out at this bed and breakfast on a horse farm in central kentucky (The Ashley Inn) with Leah and John on such a special day and capture memories that they will remember forever.

I usually have a rule where I only post a small selection of images in a blog post. However, when you have a wedding with amazing people, a gorgeous day, a party bus reserved specifically to hit up all the coolest photo spots around town, a bridal photobomb, super sweet moments, goofy faces, awesome details, adorable children, crazy props, a science experiment, sparklers, and a horse and carriage I can’t help but laying it all out there. There are few people in existence that are more fun to hang out with than these people. Enjoy!
One of my favor moments of the night was when the Maid of Honor convinced the bride to do her Raptor impression in front of everyone 🙂
